LUCIGNOLO DEL ROSSO MALPELO (CARLO)

We researched many bloodlines whilst searching for a new male Corso and the one found to have all the right attributeswas the “Dyrium” line. It was brought to our attention that Simona Tanzarella of Del Rosso Malpelo had recently bred a litter of puppies whose parents were from the Dyrium line and we arranged a viewing. We had met Simona in 2002 at a show in Rapallo, Italy and had been impressed with her dogs. She introduced us not only to the pups but also their dam, Ch. Reproducer Naomi . The sire, Archimede dei Rei de Roma, (Junior Champion of San Marino) was competing in an international show in Bologna during our visit, which allowed us to see him first hand and speak with his breeder, owner and Italian judge Danillio Giorgio of Rei de Roma. Archimede is a full brother to some very important Cane Corsos such as Barone dei Re di Roma, Baddo dei Re di Roma , Baronessa dei Re di Roma, Appollonia dei Re Di Roma. Archimede’s sire is Yurak, Italian Champion and Champion Reproducer, sire too many Champion Corsos bred by Vito Indiveri, Dyrium kennels and now owned by Elmi Kennels.

After viewing Naomi, Archimede and the puppies we decided to purchase a black brindle male who we called Carlo. Due to UK importation laws, Carlo had to stay in quarantine kennels for 6 months. He is no worse for that experience and has a wonderful temperament and a great love of people. His hips have been scored under the UK BVA scheme and the overall score is 8 which is excellent. Carlo measures 27 inches to the shoulder and weighs 55 kilos.

We have a great deal of gratitude for Simona Tanzarella, for giving us the oppurtunity to bring a wonderful Cane Corso, from one of the best Italian bloodlines, into the UK.
